What a shame it is that Newsweek, or NewsWEAK, as someone pointed out, would use a picture that Governor Palin took for Runner's World Magazine a few months ago as the cover of their news magazine. Oh, I forgot; they don't specialize in news when it comes to Sarah. They specialize in far Left-wing partisan antics. The continued sexism she is subjected to is absolutely beyond the pale. She is an accomplished woman who is also a committed athlete, and that's what this original picture was about, certainly nothing to be ashamed of.
Sarah Palin is everything people on the Left say they respect in women, but they can't stand it in her. The reasons are quite clear: she's a conservative; she's pro-life; she is happily married; she has five children, one of whom has special needs; she's a devoted Christian; and, as my friend, Rachelle Friberg of Conservative Girl With a Voice, points out, she actually looks like a woman. The last one really drives women on the Left crazy. So they will stop at nothing to destroy her, even doing something as stupid as using a photo taken for an athletic magazine and trying to use it to discredit her. News flash: it ain't gonna work.
Via Facebook, the governor writes about this photo and pitiful tactic:
The choice of photo for the cover of this week's Newsweek is unfortunate. When it comes to Sarah Palin, this "news" magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner's World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness - a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation. The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention - even if out of context.
