I rang in the new year at my friend Kia's house with some friends and family. Our get-together was a blast. It included food, games, karaoke, and laughing till our sides hurt. Those of you who only know me through Motivation: Truth have no idea how silly I am, but the people in the pictures below could tell you stories! My mother tells me often that I've always been silly, and I have a feeling I always will be. It helps keep me young. I love to laugh as much as I love to be serious. I guess I'm an even mix of both, although most people have only seen one side or the other. Only the truly lucky ones gets to see both--like my students and my closest friends!
We went from silly to serious as we gathered ourselves to enter 2010 with some worship music, an encouraging Word from the Bible, and prayer.
I just wanted to share my New Year celebration with you via pictures. Enjoy.
So what were you doing at midnight? Leave a comment, if you'd like.
Doing a little "shoutin'"!
I was laughing so hard after dancing and singing, I thought I was gonna puke!
Lil Larry with his sister Moriah backing him up.
Brother and sister, Charity and Jonathan, having a blast.
This is all we had for a gong. Jonathan gonged almost everybody--even me!
But Jonathan did not gong Nay. She was too good!
Autumn and Carthette enjoying the fun!
This is Kia's party so she had to steal the show!
And since it's Kia's party, she can cry if she wants to, but she called it singing!
Ms. Christine got her groove on, too!
We slowed things down before midnight to bring in 2010 in song and prayer.
Well, Rachelle and Jalisa on the couch were praying, the boys--not so much!
Kia shared an encouraging word about the importance of prayer in 2010.
We lifted our paper cups holding sparkling apple cider to toast the new year.
