As some of you know, I was privileged to travel to Haiti last week with my parents, Greta Van Susteren and her husband John, and the Reverend Franklin Graham and his daughter Cissy. Rev. Graham's wonderful charity, Samaritan's Purse, provides faith-based assistance to those in need around the world; Haiti is one of those places in such great need.
Haiti is a nation in turmoil. It hasn't seemed to even begin to recover from January's devastating earthquake, and now it's fighting a cholera epidemic that is killing Haitians.
Samaritan's Purse is providing care through a gracious volunteer medical staff, wonderful volunteers, and the donations we can all help provide. Though poverty surrounds the Haitians, you can feel a sense of optimism from the children there. Coming from a wealthy country like the United States, visiting Haiti was such an eye opening experience. The people of Haiti are in my prayers, and hopefully are in yours as well.
If you can help Rev. Graham with his mission, please visit www.samaritanspurse.org. Thank you so much!
