Today was one of those days in church where we came in contact with God in such a real, tangible way. Worship was phenomenal--deeper than I can remember experiencing in years. I found the last song we sang on Youtube, and you can listen to it below. As we sang it, God's presence totally filled the place, and there was nothing we could do but settle into it, to give ourselves to Him--forget about the clock, forget about a program, and just allow Him to do what He wanted to do. The result of true worship, of course, is always true deliverance and true freedom. It seemed no one held back.
The song, "I Give Myself to You" is all about surrender, which is always the hardest thing in the world to do, for we have our own plans, our own dreams, and our own agendas. So often those things get in the way of God's perfect plan for our lives or cause us to worry about how things are going to unfold or work out. This robs our peace and joy, which we cannot afford to live without. Granted, there are many things within our hearts that are there because God placed them there. However, when we focus on those more than Him, He must tweak us so that our eyes are fixed in the right direction--on Him. That's what today brought.
I lay down my life so He can use me.
Be blessed--and give yourself away.
