National Day of Prayer: Praying for America

Thursday, May 5, 2011

Today is the National Day of Prayer, enacted by Congress in 1952. We observe it every first Thursday in May. Every year, members of my church--Rock Solid Church--meet outside the courthouse for an hour and pray. We pray for our nation and all that impacts her: leaders, morality, education, media, the sanctity of life, restoration of the biblical foundations upon which we were built. We cry out to God for His hand to be upon America and for His will to be done.

I joined everyone briefly during a break from work. It was the best several minutes of my day. There's nothing like joining with people of faith to pour out our hearts in prayer for this incredible nation.

May God bless America--and may America bless God.
