Governor Palin will be in Belleville, Michigan this Saturday at an Americans for Prosperity tea party event.
According to The Detroit News:
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will visit Metro Detroit this weekend to headline a tea party event that's open to the public.
A favorite of tea party supporters, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate will speak at the Patriots in the Park event Saturday at the Wayne County fairgrounds, 10871 Quirk Road in Belleville.
Sponsored by Americans for Prosperity — Michigan and the Willow Run Tea Party Caucus, the park event runs from noon to 6 p.m. and features a lineup of tea party and conservative speakers, with radio host Thayrone X as the master of ceremonies. All proceeds will benefit the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund.
Tea party leaders were overjoyed when they learned Palin accepted the invitation.
"I'm just elated," said Denise Magewick-Schlotz, co-administrator of the Willow Run Tea Party. "It should be a great event."
The event is free; parking is $5 and food and entertainment will be on hand, Magewick-Schlotz said.
