Friday, August 31, 2012

Governor Palin was interviewed by Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto last night and Megyn Kelly yesterday afternoon. Among other things, she discussed the RNC, the tea party, the left's accusations of racism, and a possible future run for President.

Just read your tweet about the NJ shooting being ridiculous. I agree, but I am interested to know why you find it so. Would you be willing to admit that it's time to have a serious conversation about gun restrictions (not taking guns away, just legislating the use of them)? Or the fact that Janet Napolitano said some former U.S. military are leaving the armed forces isolated and primed for being domestic terrorists? Or that we have stripped our social programs to the point of being so threadbare that any opportunities for mental health treatment can't be discussed?

Curious

Anonymous, thank you for your comment, and I totally understand your concern about gun violence. To answer your question:

Locks on doors, most of us would agree, are often strong enough to keep only an honest man out. Hard-core thieves find a way in. They're criminals, after all. Likewise, we already have plenty of "locks"--regulations and gun control laws. Criminals intent on murder will not be halted by more regulations. And destroying our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms will only take guns out of the hands of honest, law-abiding citizens. I would argue, too, that in some instances, more armed individuals would have stopped murderers in their tracks before they took so many lives, which we have seen at times.

Thank you again for weighing in.
