Video: Gov. Palin Talks to Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly at RNC; "Zealot" Comment; UPDATE: Hume Says the Word was "Salad"
Wednesday, August 29, 2012
Governor Palin spoke to Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly tonight after Ann Romney and Gov. Chris Christie spoke at the Republican National Convention. As is circulating online, at about 1:34 of the video, someone can be heard saying the word "zealot" as she is speaking. It's not just this video; it's on every video, which demonstrates it originates from Fox News. As others have indicated, this is utterly unbecoming, unprofessional, and unacceptable. A random guest deserves better, so surely a colleague deserves far better. I imagine Fox has heard by now that whoever said it was picked up on mic. I'm interested in seeing how they address this, if they have the courage and respect to do so at all.

UPDATE: Brit Hume has responded to questions about the "zealot" controversy. Many people, including yours truly, thought we heard the word zealot. It's even up on Drudge as such. However, Hume denies that. He tweeted:
@Bassmaster12 @Stacy_Drake This is almost comical. Mic picked up a snatch of an off-camera conversation I was having. The word was "salad."
I listened again with the word "salad" in mind. I take Brit Hume's word for it, and I apologize for jumping the gun.
