Governor Palin's Big Brother Breaks Down Presidential Debate

Thursday, October 4, 2012

Via Facebook, Chuck, Jr. weighs in on last night's presidential debate, articulates how Mitt Romney's Day 1 plan seems modeled after Governor Palin's tenure as governor of Alaska, and offers advice to the GOP nominee:
This is our quick take on last night's debate in case anyone cares to hear about it:

Our first impression was... wow. Romney finally stepped up and came out swinging. He seemed to completely control the debate, and his opponent was definitely taken aback.

I commented to dad that Romney sounded like he tore a page right out of Sarah's playbook when he said that on his first day of office, he would sit down with Democratic leaders, listen to their concerns, iron out differences, and start working together for the betterment of all Americans. That is exactly what Sarah did in Alaska. A politician is supposed to work for the good of all the people, and Sarah never lost sight of that. She was always willing to work with those on the other side of the aisle in order to help the common good. She understood that no group of people is ever going to agree on every issue, but we have to support each others as fellow Americans.

9/11 was one of the most horrific events in our country's history. But I remember how that tragedy united us and made us more proud to be Americans than ever. I miss that feeling and I want it back. We still live in the greatest country on the planet, but this divisiveness that has been steadily growing over the past few years is destroying us. It sometimes feels like we're heading for another civil war.

A real leader is someone with the ability to bring us together to work on conquering the massive problems our country is facing today.

Lastly, I would send a warning out to Romney... watch out! You are about to be attacked by your opponents on a level that will be hard for you to imagine. They will hammer away at your character over and over again until many will start to believe the terrible things that will be said. We saw this happen firsthand to Sarah, and we wrote about it in detail in our book. So, stay strong, be honest and open, and don't let the haters get you down.
