As always, Governor Palin honors our veterans with this simple but profound thought, via Facebook:
Happy Veterans Day! If you love your freedom, thank a Vet!
UPDATE: Governor Palin's brother, Chuck, Jr., posted the following Veterans Day message on his website:
Thank you, Veterans!
Never can enough thanks be given for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women and their families. We honor them today and remind ourselves that their commitment and courage is never to be taken for granted or forgotten.
At this very moment, while some of you are preparing for church, getting ready to sit down for some football, or tending to your Sunday chores, there are men and women thousands of miles away putting it all on the line for us.
They’re rubbing the sand out of their eyes, trying to stay alert, scared (but brave), homesick, wondering if you’re thinking about them, and hoping for a letter from home today.
Don’t take them for granted… especially today.
Happy Veteran’s Day to all that serve and sacrifice.
