The Senate struck down measures today to usher in gun control and restrict Second Amendment rights. As common sense people have been saying all along, criminals, intent on doing evil, don't follow the law. They won't be the ones affected by background checks and gun registry. Law-abiding citizens, who are just that--law-abiding--are the ones who would find themselves at the mercy of these mandates. Today's vote is good news.
Governor Palin, who tweeted on Monday that she would not support politicians who supported more Second Amendment limits, responded to today's vote:
Politicians' expanded gun control effort fails in the Senate today. Count this a victory for the 2nd Amendment and law-abiding citizens.— Sarah Palin (@SarahPalinUSA) April 17, 2013
