Governor Palin Commemorates 150th Gettysburg Anniversary

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Governor Palin commemorated the 150th Anniversary of Gettysburg via Breitbart:
Today marks the beginning of the week-long ceremonies commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. There will be a full re-enactment of the battle, discussions with panels of historians, and of course a re-reading of the Gettysburg Address.

But as Lincoln affirmed when he dedicated that hallowed ground, nothing we say or do can “add or detract” from the great sacrifice made there. Gettysburg was a defining moment in the history of our nation; and consequently, one of the most important battles in the history of mankind.

I’ve had the honor of visiting Gettysburg twice, most recently during the One Nation Bus Tour in 2011. I brought my family with me and we met other families—even meeting up with friends traveling from Wasilla—as we paid our respects to the monuments and patriot graves. It was important for me to bring the younger generation there in order to instill in them a sense of the duty we owe to the ordinary men who did extraordinary things to make us one nation.

On a sunny summer day there, despite the distance of a hundred and fifty years, you can somehow feel the “mystic chords of memory” binding us to that generation whose “hearts were touched with fire.”

I felt it myself when I visited that day a few years ago. I felt it when I prayed at Little Round Top in gratitude to the unflinching courage of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain and his men from Maine who held the line when the fate of the battle, and hence the nation, was at stake. I felt it when I looked out across the field where Pickett’s Charge took place and contemplated the doomed valor of those men of Old Virginia. I felt it when I stood at the High Water Mark, where Alonzo Cushing gave his life to repel the furthest advance of the Confederate cause and thus end the three-day battle.

Lincoln’s words at Gettysburg were indeed prophetic. The men who “gave the last full measure of devotion” there did not die in vain. Our nation endures and our “government of the people, by the people, for the people” has not perished from the earth.

Governor Palin Warns GOP Elephants and Democrat Jackasses; Updated

Friday, June 28, 2013

Via Facebook, Governor Palin issues a warning:

Please take a look at the article linked below to understand how the amnesty bill the Senate passed yesterday is a sad betrayal of working class Americans of every ethnicity who will see their wages lowered and their upward mobility lowered too. And yet we still do not have a secured border. This Senate-approved amnesty bill rewards lawbreakers and won’t solve any problems – as the CBO report notes that millions of more illegal immigrants will continue to flood the U.S. in coming years.

Great job, GOP establishment. You’ve just abandoned the Reagan Democrats with this amnesty bill, and we needed them to “enlarge that tent” of which you so often speak. It’s depressing to consider that the House of Representatives is threatening to pass some version of this nonsensical bill in the coming weeks.

Once again, I’ll point out the obvious to you: it was the loss of working class voters in swing states that cost us the 2012 election, not the Hispanic vote. Legal immigrants respect the rule of law and can see how self-centered a politician must be to fill this amnesty bill with favors, earmarks, and crony capitalists’ pork, and call it good. You disrespect Hispanics with your assumption that they desire ignoring the rule of law.

Folks like me are barely hanging on to our enlistment papers in any political party – and it’s precisely because flip-flopping political actions like amnesty force us to ask how much more bull from both the elephants in the Republican Party and the jackasses in the Democrat Party we have to swallow before these political machines totally abandon the average commonsense hardworking American. Now we turn to watch the House. If they bless this new “bi-partisan” hyper-partisan devastating plan for amnesty, we’ll know that both private political parties have finally turned their backs on us. It will then be time to show our parties’ hierarchies what we think of being members of either one of these out-of-touch, arrogant, and dysfunctional political machines.

Governor Palin: Support Troopathon

Thursday, June 27, 2013

Via Facebook:

The annual Troopathon event is broadcasting live today from the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California. Today, I’m in a remote area in Alaska (in Illiamna in Bristol Bay) and heading back in Todd’s float plane to do an interview for Hannity’s show on Fox in a few hours from our house. But I’m with friends at Troopathon in spirit from the far North and offer my support to this worthy cause.

Troopathon is a wonderful way to show support for our brave men and women in uniform by sending care packages to our troops in combat zones. They’re willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for us. So Troopathon is the very least a grateful nation can do for them. This is just one small way for us to show them the love and appreciation they deserve.

All it takes is a simple care package with a personalized note of thanks to show them that they aren’t forgotten. Imagine if you were deployed halfway around the world, not having seen your parents, husband, wife, son or daughter in months. You’re tired, sweaty, and probably somewhat lonely. And then out of the blue you are handed a care package with a sincere note of appreciation from an American back home. What a difference that little gesture makes!

Please tune in today from 1-8pm to watch Troopathon (watch online at

You can find out how to send a care package by going to or calling 866-866-6372.

Let’s show our brave troops the generous heart of a grateful nation.

Audio: John Gibson Interviews Governor Palin

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Governor Palin grants an interview to John Gibson, where she calls out Senator Marco Rubio because he "blatantly flip-flopped on his position on immigration, on amnesty, on border security." She follows by calling out Senator Kelly Ayotte for also turn[ing her] back on the American public on border security, and should, therefore, be held accountable.

Included in this interview are her thoughts on Edward Snowden, whom she says should have to answer for his actions but is "not the problem." The problem, she points out, is the violation by this administration of Americans' Fourth Amendment rights.

Governor Palin Blasts Obama Administration for Welcoming Hamas Supporter to White House

Governor Palin, with good reason, is none too happy about this:

Via Twitter:

Via Facebook:
WTH is he doing in our White House? Radical leader supporting mission to kill our US soldiers in Iraq gets warm welcome by Obama administration.
She links to the following article:
A Muslim scholar whose group supports Hamas, who has urged the U.N. to criminalize blasphemy and who is the deputy of an Egyptian cleric banned from the U.S. over his radical statements was able to secure a visit at the White House earlier this month.

A report from The Investigative Project on Terrorism uncovered a statement on the website of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah claiming he met June 13 with Obama administration officials in Washington.

Bin Bayyah is vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, a group founded by Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi -- a Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called for the death of Jews and Americans and himself is banned from visiting the U.S.

While Bin Bayyah secured a visit, he and his group also have a history of questionable positions, IPT reports.

A 2009 fatwa from the group barred "all forms of normalization" with Israel.

Governor Palin Shares Greta Van Susteren's Sudan Video

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Via Facebook:

Take a look at this video from Greta van Susteren about Sudan. We need to appreciate faith-based private charities like Samaritan's Purse that offer hope. They continue to engage in tough, thankless tasks to provide for those who face seemingly insurmountable challenges. Thank God for these charitable people who have such big hearts to serve, and remember we can all help by contributing time and money to worthy private organizations that successfully help mankind.

Governor Palin Takes Apart 'Amnesty Bill'

Monday, June 24, 2013

Governor Palin drew attention to Senator Marco Rubio's immigration flip-flop by sharing a link to a Town Hall article. This is what is known as principled leadership--calling out both sides of the aisle, as the Governor, unlike many in D.C., is unafraid to do. She writes on Facebook:

Politicians wonder why we can't trust them? Campaign flip-flops like this and carve-out bribes in the Amnesty Bill for politicians like Begich & Murkowski to exempt AK seafood workers.

Below is a portion of the article to which she links. Read the full article here.
If we are to believe candidate Marco Rubio’s comments during an Oct. 24, 2010 debate, it seems the Florida senator’s views on immigration reform have ‘evolved’ quite a bit since taking office.

During a debate with opponents Rep. Kendrick Meek and Gov. Charlie Crist, candidate Rubio argued that giving illegal immigrants an “earned path to citizenship,” which Crist, Sen. John McCain and former President George W. Bush had advocated, is basically amnesty.

"First of all, earned path to citizenship is basically code for amnesty. It's what they call it," Rubio said. "And the reality of it is this: This has to do with the bottom line that America cannot be the only country in the world that does not enforce its immigration laws. It is unfair to the people that have legally entered this country to create an alternative pathway for individuals who entered illegally and knowingly did so."

"If you do that, you will never have a legal immigration system that works," he continued. "No one is going to follow the law if there is an easier way to do it."

Also, via Facebook, Governor Palin took apart the immigration amnesty bill:
Holes in the Border As Big As the Holes in Their Amnesty Bill
Just like they did with Obamacare, some in Congress intend to “Pelosi” the amnesty bill. They’ll pass it in order to find out what’s in it. And just like the unpopular, unaffordable Obamacare disaster, this pandering, rewarding-the-rule-breakers, still-no-border-security, special-interests-ridden, 24-lb disaster of a bill is not supported by informed Americans.

I am an ardent supporter of legal immigration. I’m proud that our country is so desirable that it has been a melting pot making a diverse people united as the most exceptional nation on earth for over two centuries. But I join every American with an ounce of common sense insisting that any discussion about immigration must center on a secure border. The amnesty bill before the Senate is completely toothless on border security.

It’s beyond disingenuous for anyone to claim that a vote for this bill is a vote for security. Look no further than the fact that Senator Rubio and amnesty supporters nixed Senator Thune’s amendment that required the feds to finally build part of a needed security fence before moving forward on the status of illegal immigrants who’ve already broken the law to be here. And if shooting down the border fence wasn't proof enough, they blew another chance by killing Senator Paul’s “Trust But Verify” amendment which required the completion of a fence in five years and required Congress to vote on whether the border is actually secure before furthering any immigration measures. And then they blew it yet again, nixing Senator Cornyn’s “Results” amendment, which also required border enforcement standards. Now the Senate’s pro-amnesty crowd is offering a fig leaf to security via the Corker-Hoeven Amendment, but this is really nothing more than empty promises. It’s amnesty right now and border security… eh, well, someday.

If this bill was genuinely concerned with border security, it might include practical solutions for those states that live with the problem every single day. Pass-through grants could be given to border states to actually build a fence. The most responsive and responsible level of government is the most local, and since governors accept pass-throughs all the time, this is a workable solution. We could also free up more federal lands along the border to be privatized. The farmers and ranchers would have a clear incentive to keep their private property secure from the flow of illegal immigrants and/or other illegal activities trafficked across the border onto land they’d cultivate. There are plenty of other commonsense solutions, but this bill isn’t about fixing problems; it’s about amnesty at all costs.

When every commonsense, concrete, and verifiable measure to secure the border is stripped away, despite politicians’ promises, what are we supposed to rely on to ensure that our currently unsecured border will be fixed in the future? If D.C. expects us to just sit back and “trust” them despite our permanent political class and Washington bureaucrats proving themselves so very untrustworthy, then I have a bridge to somewhere in Alaska to sell them. Our government is awash in one scandal after another involving blatant lies and violations of our basic liberties, and the leader of the pack ventures out on one road trip after another to avoid accountability.

Just like they did for Obamacare, the permanent political class is sugaring this bill with one goody after another to entice certain senators to vote for it. Look no further than page 983 of the bill, which contains a special visa exemption for foreign seafood workers in the 49th state despite huge unemployment numbers in the American workforce. This is obviously a hidden favor designed to buy the votes of Alaska Senators Murkowski and Begich.

And just like Obamacare, this amnesty bill fails on every level of economic sanity and sane reform. It offers no solutions. It will barely slow the flow of illegal immigration, which means we can expect millions and millions of new illegal aliens in coming years. Sort of what happened when we passed amnesty in 1986 without securing our borders first.

According to the CBO, the bill won’t stop illegal immigration, but it will drive down wages for average hardworking Americans. These would be the same blue-collar working class voters of every ethnicity who chose to sit home in 2012 instead of turning out to vote in the swing states we needed to carry in order to stop Barack Obama’s promised “fundamental transformation” of America. I note this just as a helpful reminder to those who believe the hyperventilated new hype claiming that conservatives need to support this bill in order to win future elections. That’s 100% wrong. The crony capitalists in D.C. and their corporatist friends on Wall Street might think this amnesty boondoggle is a great idea, but the average American worker in our middle class who'll soon see lower wages is the one left out in the cold, along with those hard working immigrants who followed the rules and are working here legally.

Passing this bill with an unsecured border and within a growing welfare state under Barack Obama is economic insanity. Have people already forgotten that our bankrupt government is running up massive unsustainable deficits every year? We can’t afford to pay the piper now, much less the trillions of dollars more in welfare and entitlements for the millions who are here illegally today that will be granted this bill’s benefits. According to the Heritage Foundation, the bill provides only a temporary delay in granting illegal immigrants eligibility for all U.S. welfare and entitlement programs. We’re looking at an explosion of costs in the very near future. There is no way to pay for the added untold millions of new enrollees in these growing government programs. Pass this, Congress, and Obama will have succeeded in fundamentally transforming America.

Again, I am supportive of legal immigration and am as sympathetic as the next person to the aspirations of people who come here to work hard and live a better life than the poverty and unfree environments they left behind. So many are drawn here because we are an exceptional nation where freedom provides an equal opportunity for everyone to work hard and make something of themselves. But a key part of American exceptionalism is the rule of law. Border security is fundamental to the rule of law, as is incentivizing those who follow the legal path to citizenship instead of punishing them by promoting lawbreakers. This is non-negotiable.

It’s time our lawmakers remember that we are a sovereign nation of laws. This bill ignores that, and ignores the will of the people. The continued porous border goes against what politicians assured us was in this mountain-high bill, and in typical D.C. style it flies in the face of what many politicians campaigned on. I heard their campaign promises. You heard them, too.

It’s time for concerned Americans to flood our legislators’ phone lines with the input they need to hear from We the People. Join the mama grizzlies who are rearing up tirelessly to swat away false claims that amnesty is a good thing. Michelle Malkin rightly said the issue is not secure the border first, it’s “secure the border. Period.” Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter have also offered superb warnings on amnesty’s economic impacts to the middle class.

As the Senate moves to pass amnesty, the only bright spot in this travesty is the rallying revolution we can look forward to. For just as opposition to Obamacare became a rallying cry for the 2010 midterm elections, opposition to this fundamentally transforming amnesty bill will galvanize the grassroots in next year’s elections. And 2014 is just around the corner.

Governor Palin Tweets: Louisiana State Senator Escapes Democrat Plantation

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Governor Palin tweeted the following today, drawing our attention to a video by Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory, who has liberated himself from the plantation known as the Democrat party. In this video, Senator Guillory coherently and concisely expresses why the party of Abraham Lincoln--the anti-slavery, pro-equality party--is the natural home for black Americans.

This is the video to which the Governor links.

Guillory rejects the notion that his move from the Democrat party is a bold one. It's simply the right one, he asserts. As a black American myself, I agree that when you know the facts, this is indeed the right choice--the only choice--for any self-respecting, freedom-loving black person. The Democrat party enslaves and manipulates. It does not empower, promote, or provide viable solutions. I dare say, though, that this senator is indeed bold. I have never been a Democrat, so I've never had to leave the party. I am a conservative who happens to be a registered Republican, and as such I have experienced first-hand the vitriol directed at blacks who refuse to be enslaved by a self-serving, heavy-handed political party with a history dripping with racism and oppression. More and more must awake to the truth that Democrat leaders don't want them to learn. And more and more must come to understand that today's political enslavement is just as dangerous, and produces the same impotence, that the slavery of old produced. The conservative movement could use more people like Senator Guillory who can articulate this as passionately as he does in the video.

The first blog post I ever wrote in 2008 was called "Get Off the Plantation." In it, I expressed how blacks have been used by slave master Democrats for votes and perpetual power:
How is it that well after 100 years since the end of slavery, many African-Americans still live on the plantation? No, we're not picking cotton for the slave master or working in the big house. This is the political plantation I'm talking about, where we're enslaved to a system that is the antithesis of what we believe in and what we represent. The slave master is the Liberal Democratic Party which uses control tactics and misinformation to keep itself in the big house at the expense of unsuspecting African-Americans and now Hispanics.

Democrats have done a good job of putting a lock on the "minority" vote by using racial slurs such as "Uncle Tom" or "Sell-Out" to refer to any Black person who would dare leave the plantation in search of his true God-ordained freedom. Those who stay behind have the chains of bondage tightened more and more around their minds. If they knew better, however, they would rush off the master's property without looking back. Even Harriet Tubman declared that she could have led more slaves to freedom if she could have convinced them that they were slaves! But sometimes bondage becomes so familiar, it gets confused with freedom and begins to feel like home.
Read my full article here.

This video to which Governor Palin links is worth watching. In just over four minutes, viewers receive a plethora of common sense information. More than information, they receive truth--and we have all heard what happens when we know the truth. I'd say today is as good a day as any to be set free.

Happy Father's Day

Sunday, June 16, 2013

Good fathers are so very important for the future of their children and the future of society. They are more valuable than they realize, and the little things they do amount to huge things in the lives of those who love them. Happy Father's Day!

Via Facebook, Governor Palin also shares her Father's Day thoughts:

Happy Father's Day to the great Dads across America! Thank you for supporting your families, setting good examples of working hard, and selflessly sharing your time and energy; and thank you for the strength you provide the country's foundation. God Bless our fathers.

Governor Palin at Faith and Freedom Coalition in D.C. - Includes Video

Saturday, June 15, 2013

Governor Palin spoke today at the Faith and Freedom Coalition in Washington, D.C. Great speech! Her words toward the end were especially powerful, as she declared:

This land was dedicated to our Lord God, and He has blessed it. And we'd do well to rededicate it to our one true Heavenly Father because we're not going to come up in our own simple minds with the solutions. The challenges are too big. We need to ask that hand of protection and the blessings of our Father again to fall upon our nation, not that we are a deserving people. But that's what God is all about--grace and mercy and forgiveness. And if we ask for this, and if we do rededicate our land to our Lord, things will turn around.

Below is a video clip of the Governor on the rope line graciously meeting, greeting, and posing with people who requested her attention.

Following the conference, Governor Palin wrote on Facebook:
Had a great time at the Faith & Freedom Coalition Conference in D.C. today! Thank you to everyone who attended. God bless you all and God bless America.

She then posted the following note and picture:

May these families' sacrifices never be in vain. God bless our troops and their brave families. I am inspired and honored by the Gold Star Wives I spoke with today at the Faith and Freedom Coalition in Washington, D.C.

Rock Solid Church: 2013 Flag Day Parade; We Won't Be Shaken

Friday, June 14, 2013

The Flag Day Parade is one of the annual highlights of the city where I live. It is held the Saturday prior to Flag Day, which was last Saturday. My church, Rock Solid Church, always goes all out to honor our Lord, our country, our founding, and our military.

Our church's theme this year was Betsy Ross' sewing of the American flag. The float illustrated that throughout times of war and difficulty, we persevered because we leaned upon Christ and the power of His cross. Our featured song was "We Won't Be Shaken" by Building 429, which I embedded at the end of this post.

Enjoy the photos of our team as we prepared to step off last Saturday. God bless America!

Governor Palin: Flag Day

Via Facebook, Governor Palin writes:
Whether outside our homes, inside our classrooms, or alongside our courthouses, the American flag flies as a symbol of "liberty and justice for all." On this Flag Day, we pledge our allegiance once again to the ideals that define this most exceptional nation. We vow to defend these ideals out of respect for those who have come before us and out of love for future generations.

Please follow the link to read President Reagan's 1986 Flag Day Radio Address. It reads in part:

“As the American Republic grew and prospered and new stars were added to the flag, the ideal of freedom grew and prospered. From the rolling hills of Kentucky to the shores of California to the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon, our pioneers carried our flag before them, a symbol of the indomitable spirit of a free people. And let us never forget that in honoring our flag, we honor the American men and women who have courageously fought and died for it over the last 200 years, patriots who set an ideal above any consideration of self. Our flag flies free today because of their sacrifice.”

What powerful words from our fortieth president! Happy Flag Day, and God bless America!

Governor Palin Returns to FOX News

Thursday, June 13, 2013

If they weren't so mean-spirited and downright hateful, I might feel sorry for Governor Palin's detractors. They were so insistent that FOX News had kicked her to the curb and refused to renew her contract because she was, you know, irrelevant, no good, washed up, not a serious commentator. You've heard the nonsense before. And no matter how many times we tried to help them out and clue them in that Governor Palin was the one to make the decision not to renew her contract--despite the fact that this was verified--they continued in their self-delusion because...well, because that's what haters do. Yes, it would be so easy to give them sympathy, these souls who are always wrong. How they handle the repeated disappointment is beyond me. They're certainly beside themselves today, as FOX has announced that Governor Palin has rejoined the network:

Via Business Wire:

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is rejoining FOX News as a contributor, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of the network. Palin will appear on FOX News Channel’s (FNC) daytime and primetime programming, starting with FOX & Friends on Monday, June 17th. She will also contribute to FOX Business Network (FBN).

“The power of FOX News is unparalleled. The role of FOX News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at FOX.”

In making the announcement, Ailes said, “I’ve had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining FOX News as a contributor. I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming. I hope she continues to speak her mind.”

Author of two New York Times best-selling books, Palin rose to national prominence during the 2008 President election and has since made a mark as a political commentator. From January 2010 to January 2013, she served as a contributor for FNC. In 2010, Palin was named to Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” list.

Governor Palin stated, "The power of FOX News is unparalleled. The role of FOX News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at FOX."

Governor Palin: God Bless Sarah Murnaghan

I was so glad to hear that ten year old Sarah Murnaghan received the life-saving double lung transplant last night, which doctors are calling a success. Had it been left up to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebilius, who is in charge of Obamacare, by the way, this little girl would be left on her own. She would, experts say, be dead in a matter of weeks. A common sense judge overrode the death panel, however.

Today, Governor Palin, who recently drew attention to this situation, tweeted:

I Joined Governor Palin's Liberty-Lovers' Book Club

Monday, June 10, 2013

Last night, I posted the following on Facebook:

In addition to the books above that I physically have in my possession, I also have liberty-loving books downloaded on my tablet. I pasted pics of their covers below:

Governor Palin: Support Liberty - Post a Pic

Saturday, June 8, 2013

In the battle for liberty, Governor Palin posted the following on Facebook, after news emerged that a soldier is facing retribution for simply reading books by people like Mark Levin:

Invitation for Americans to roguely illustrate their stand in today's 'Liberty vs Tyranny' war. Post a pic.

The Governor included a picture of her holding Mark Levin's book Liberty and Tyranny. I'm proud to say I took that picture while visiting Alaska in 2009. I snapped it at the Wasilla Governor's picnic.

She followed with this message and picture:
Show your support for liberty. Post a pic holding a liberty-loving book!

Governor Palin: Soldier Faces Retribution for Reading Material - Outrageous

Via Facebook:

Whether you agree or disagree with this soldier’s opinions, I think we can all agree that the apparent retribution he faced for proudly reading certain authors is outrageous.

I’d love to see more of America’s finest, our men and women in uniform, along with everybody else proudly and boldly reading more writings from patriots who pinpoint who is trying to kill our Constitution. Americans obviously need to know why it’s imperative we don’t roll over and succumb to these attempts to fundamentally transform America into a populace of sheep merely grazing, and then atrophying, under tyranny. This IS a battle between liberty and tyranny, as the title of Mark Levin’s book declares. The authors and commentators mentioned in the article linked below will help more of our loved ones understand this by articulately explaining what the radical Left’s leadership is doing to our country.

Yes, if more citizens would hear and read Rush, The Great One, et al., the empowerment of the average person would provide the energy and encouragement to take a stand and proclaim, “No more!” It’s time. Troops – especially you – have fought for the freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. Your brothers and sisters have died in this battle to defend liberty. Please know that a grateful nation won't let your sacrifices be in vain. We have your back.

I’d love to see pictures of our troops reading any of these apparently “banned” pro-America books. Don’t show your face or name in the photo, perhaps just your liberty-loving hands around a liberty-loving book or hands on a radio dial tuning in to hear the aforementioned conservative leaders speak truth. What is the use in fighting and dying for freedom in far away countries if they take away freedom at home? Post a pic.

Dan Calabrese: This Is Exactly What Governor Palin Meant

Dan Calabrese is yet another to highlight that Governor Palin foretold of "death panels," for which she was mercilessly criticized. The truth is, unfortunately, that she was right--again. As she pointed out Tuesday on Facebook:

And they called us liars when we spoke of “death panels” – faceless bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor to make life and death decisions about a loved one’s survival. It doesn’t sound so far fetched anymore, does it?

Via Cain TV, Calabrese writes (emphasis added):
Not that she'll get credit for it, but when Sarah Palin warned of "death panels" resulting from the constructs of ObamaCare, this is exactly what she meant: Someone needs something or they're going to die, and some government bureaucrat who values the systemic ramifications of the matter above all else, gets to decide what will happen.

In this case, DHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius made her decision: She would not intervene to save the life of 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan, a cystic fibrosis patient from Pennsylvania. Sarah is, as I write this, weeks away from death if she doesn't get a lung transplant. That, you'd think, would serve as a call to action for anyone who might be able to make the transplant happen. But not Kathleen Sebelius, because adults are also waiting for lungs, and the rules say no one under 12 can be prioritized over adults.

Sebelius claimed rules are rules and she had no authority to intervene, despite a letter from several members of Congress asserting that she absolutely does (including two from Pennsylvania). Sebelius did trouble herself to "order a policy review," but she refused to take action to save Sarah's life.

Fortunately, District Court Judge Michael Baylson issued a restraining order prohibiting Sebelius from applying the policy that will block Sarah from getting the lung transplant.

Lungs are available. A 10-year-old girl needs one or she will die. But a government policy says she can't have one and no one will do anything to set aside or get around the policy so a 10-year-old girl will not die. Or at least no one would until Judge Baylson came along, thank God.

This is the death panel. It is exactly what Palin was talking about. It is not a group of hooded men sitting atop a raised dias, informing unfortunate souls, "You have been selected for death," but it has the exact same effect. The government makes rules to govern the allocation of resources in health care, and the rules leave no room for flexibility when a person's life is on the line and common sense argues that flexibility is absolutely necessary. Only the intervention of this judge, assuming it is allowed to stand, can save this young girl's life - because government has no idea how to stop tripping over its own policies.

By the way, about Sebelius's claim that she couldn't act because she lacks the authority. Two things about that: 1. She doesn't have the authority to shake down the health care industry for money to pay for ObamaCare implementation either, but that's not stopping her. 2. People who believe it is important to make something happen find a way. They make phone calls. They knock on doors. They call in favors. They get done what needs to get done. People who don't really want to help claim they don't have the authority and leave it at that.

We know what Kathleen Sebelius's priorities are. What a despicable woman. Oh, by the way, I don't remember her boss issuing any directive to find a way to help either. Palin has been right about a lot of things.

Governor Palin: America, We Are So Screwed

I don't know that I've ever heard Governor Palin voice such concern about where President Obama is taking this country without simultaneously sharing a word of hope. In today's Facebook post, however, her feelings that we have been "screwed" by this administration hang heavy in the air.

She writes:

We're in for a helluva' ride, America. Obama just named Susan Rice as his National Security Adviser and nominated Samantha Power to replace Rice as our U.N. ambassador. Samantha Power is married to Cass Sunstein, the very, very strange Obama pick for an early "czar" position who wowed us with his numerous bizarre claims including the wacko belief that animals should have the right to sue in court, that hunting should be banned as genocide, and that pet ownership is akin to “slavery.” But Mrs. Cass Sunstein’s character judgment in choosing her life partner is the least of America's worries. Information about Obama's new picks will be revealed in coming days. Pay attention to who they are; what they stand for; and what their records, associations, and statements reveal about them and their intentions. Especially consider Obama's chosen ones as evidence of his skewed thinking as he "fundamentally transforms" our great nation.

Here's just a taste, as summarized by The Daily Caller:

"In 2002, President Barack Obama’s new nominee to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, proposed imposing a peace deal on Israelis and Palestinians militarily, even if such a policy alienated wealthy pro-Israel American Jews. 'I actually think in the Palestine-Israeli situation there is an abundance of information, and what we don’t need is some kind of early warning mechanism there,' Power said in an interview. 'What we need is a willingness to actually put something on the line in sort of helping the situation. And putting something on the line might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import,' she added laughing, clearly referring to American Jews and suggesting they were a great obstacle to moving toward peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”

"Isn't that lovely. Not only is she condescending toward American Jews, but her analysis also happens to be utterly wrong. The failure to achieve peace in the Middle East is not because wealthy American Jews have somehow manipulated America's leaders into thwarting peace, but rather because Palestinian leaders have consistently rejected generous Israeli peace offers for a state of their own. In fact, the wealthy American Jews that Power haughtily dismisses in the interview as obstacles to peace are very often staunch advocates of a two state solution. On another note, Power also once compared actions abroad to those of Nazi Germany. As the Washington Examiner's Philip Klein wryly noted on Twitter, 'Samantha Power is the UN Ambassador, who is supposed to represent US interests at the UN?'"

And these articles by TheBlaze,, and Townhall should help wake up Obama supporters who naively and blindly (despite failure after failure and scandal after scandal) continue to give him the benefit of the doubt:

Nah, America... I shouldn't have prefaced this post with a warning to hang on because "we're in for a helluva' ride." Sorry. That was crass and inaccurate. I should have just said about Obama's judgment and unchecked power, "America, we are so screwed."

Governor Palin Helps Send Mr. Smith to Washington - Jason Smith Wins Missouri 8th District Special Election

Tuesday, June 4, 2013

Governor Palin knows how to spot conservatives, endorse them, and help usher them into office. She backed Jason Smith in the Missouri 8th District Special Election, which took place today and was just called for him. Smith, a true conservative, was the first politician to join Governor Palin in the Palin Liberty Pose.

Moments after his victory, Governor Palin tweeted her congratulations:

Congratulations to Mr. Smith, my good friend Kristi King, who is his campaign administrator, and the entire staff. They worked very hard and should be very proud. And thank you, Governor Palin, for your endorsement and support, which helped make this victory possible.

Gov. Palin: 'Death Panels' Exhibit A

Governor Palin warned again and again and again about "death panels"--the rationing of medical care. A sad story came to people's attention today, a situation where a young girl is being denied a chance at life. Please join me in praying for a miracle.

Via Facebook, Governor Palin writes:

The government will bend the rules left and right to harass targeted taxpayers, conservative patriots, selected journalists, etc., but it will strictly exercise inconsistent and subjective rules to deny a child a shot at life. And they called us liars when we spoke of “death panels” – faceless bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor to make life and death decisions about a loved one’s survival. It doesn’t sound so far fetched anymore, does it?

When Destiny Meets Destiny

Monday, June 3, 2013

Allow me to wax deep, if not eloquent, on the subject of Governor Palin's commencement address at Republic High School on Saturday. Like others who have watched the video of her speech, I was struck most by the story she shared about how the people of that same small town helped her father in his time of need and sent him onward to his destiny. Alaska, the Last Frontier, was Chuck Heath, Sr's dream, getting there marked the start of a brand new life, and the three month old awaiting her daddy would later realize some dreams of her own.

What are the chances that this high school graduating class would conceive its own dream--a big one--to bring a former vice presidential candidate to their small town to speak to a mere 27 graduates in a modest gymnasium? What are the chances that they would be so bold as to pursue that dream and take steps to make it come true? Furthermore, what are the chances that Governor Palin, amid a plethora of invitations, no doubt, to speak before companies, meet with candidates, and rally conservatives all across the country would respond in the affirmative? Slim to none seems to be the obvious answer. History, however, will relay a different response.

The members of Republic High School's graduating class of 2013 were students when they set out on this endeavor to secure Governor Palin's participation in their graduation, but they taught the rest of us a lesson in the age-old adage, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

There's another lesson reverberating here. It's one we simply cannot ignore; even skeptics would think twice and reconsider their doubts after hearing Mr. Heath's story. It's one we hear quite often from Governor Palin: "There's no such thing as coincidence," she says. Republic, Washington took care of her father 49 years prior. Forty nine years later, almost to the very day, she stood before the graduates as the former governor of that very state to which those who came before them sent her dad. Again, the Governor would say, "No coincidences."

Something stands out even more to me, however. The law of the harvest: the truths of sowing and reaping. Farmers are well aware of how it works. If you sow in good ground, you reap a harvest; you always reap more than you sow; and sometimes someone else, someone who comes by later, benefits from the seeds you've sown, enjoys the fruit of your labors.

These 27 graduates had not yet been born 49 years ago to befriend Mr. Heath in a diner, fix his car, or charge him only a miniscule fraction of the bill he incurred. They did not sow, metaphorically speaking, into his life. Maybe an aunt did, or an uncle, or a grandparent. But not they. Nonetheless, they represent the law of the harvest. Mr. Heath has proven to be good ground. Getting him on his way to his dream got him to his family waiting in Alaska whom he raised with a firm, loving hand and a work ethic that would remain with them for a lifetime. Getting him there meant he could raise that three month old daughter there, who would become the mayor of a small town, the governor of the largest state, and the vice presidential candidate of the world's most exceptional nation. Indeed, he was good ground in which to sow. The mechanic, Mr. Carter, charged him only $10 for all his hard work back in 1964. All these years later, the Class of 2013 became the beneficiaries of gratefulness, as Governor Palin more than repaid that "debt." Not only did she not charge them for the expense of attending their graduation, she came bearing gifts for them. These youth reaped where they had not sown, gathered more than those who came before had planted, and did so in a totally different season.

I take away from this the understanding that we must never underestimate the impact of any one moment in time. We, as Americans, should especially understand this, for we are the beneficiaries of the freedoms secured by those who came before us, who paid the ultimate price. And if we do our part, our three month olds, and five year olds, and twenty years olds will be able to accomplish their dreams as a result. And if we all really commit ourselves to being bold and tenacious and undaunted--no matter how seemingly small our chances--we will leave this Republic, not just having taken from it, but having left gifts behind for those who are waiting in the wings to take to the stage of their lives and to walk into the destinies that await them.

Governor Palin: Inspired by Republic

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Governor Palin continues to demonstrate her big heart, commenting via Facebook on the small-town graduation at Republic High School where she gave the commencement address. Yes, the graduates were very grateful that she willingly attended, but she thanked them:

Was honored and inspired by the community of Republic, WA today. Todd and I travelled to this incredibly beautiful northwest community to honor the Class of 2013 as they received their diplomas and headed out into the real world. Republic is a special place – it might be small, but it is big on the values that built this great country. Republic exemplifies what makes America great – and it was an honor to thank them for it. To the Tigers of 2013 – thank you again for inviting me and inspiring me. Always remember your roots and never forget that kids from small schools can do big things. Our republic’s future is up to you!

Governor Palin at Republic High School Graduation; Updated

See, this is why I love the Guv! The media (mis)characterized Governor Palin's willingness to speak at this graduation as a step down, "a long way down"--saying she has been reduced to speaking to a small graduating class of 27. They have failed to understand that THIS is what it's all about--not ever getting too big to reach out to "small" people in small towns. She accepted their invitation, brought each graduate a bag of gifts, and thanked THEM! Gotta just love her!

On Facebook, my friend Kristi and I had this exchange:

Kristi King: Love her! She is the real deal and this country needs more politicians that "get" small town America!

Adrienne Ross: When a former VP candidate, accomplished "politician," and sought-after speaker who draws crowds of thousands willingly speaks to a graduating class of 27, basically every critic should just shut up. You're right, Kristi: that's the real deal!
Katie Steiner, KHQ reporter, writes:
Governor Sarah Palin spoke at Republic High School's Commencement Saturday.

The former Alaskan Governor spoke to the 27 seniors who graduated Saturday. But it wasn't the just the students. About 700 people from the town of Republic showed up to watch as well.

The entire senior class worked hard to bring the governor to their graduation. This effort was led by Class President Tyler Weyer. They used Facebook to get Gov. Palin's attention, and it worked.
Steiner also posted pictures of the graduation on Twitter and tweeted some of Governor Palin's comments:
