Governor Palin: D.C.: Cut the Drama. Do Your Job.

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Governor Palin, via Facebook:

Americans are sick and tired of yet another ginned-up crisis. D.C. needs to grow up, get to work, and live within its means. The real economic Armageddon looming before us is our runaway debt, not the sequester, which the President advocated for and signed into law and is now running around denouncing because he never had any genuine intention of reining in his reckless spending.

Remember that this sequestration deal came about because of the long debt ceiling standoff in the summer of 2011. It wasn’t the ideal outcome for anyone, but it did at least include real deficit reduction of about $110 billion per year for 10 years, which is still nowhere near enough to close our massive deficit. Keep in mind that since the sequester passed, the President has already hit American families and small business owners with his tax increases, or “more revenue” as he likes to call it. The American public doesn’t want tax increases; we want government to rein in its overspending.

If we can’t stomach modest cuts that would lower federal spending by a mere 0.3% per year out of a current federal budget of $3.6 trillion, then we might as well signal to the whole world that we have no serious intention of dealing with our debt problem.

If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done. Put a fork in us. We’re finished. We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.

If we ARE serious about putting our fiscal house in order, then let’s stop the hysterics, tighten our belts, and take our medicine.

Video: Governor Palin's Full 2009 NRA Speech

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

The Second Amendment has been under attack, which means the NRA has also been under attack. Gun owners everywhere are very concerned about the anti-common sense agenda which will make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and those they love. It's quite obvious that criminals don't obey laws, so the measures the Obama administration and its cohorts are planning will not serve to curb gun violence.

Governor Palin, an NRA life member, has been a strong advocate for the Second Amendment. As an Alaskan and a hunter, she understands the value of this Constitutional right, and as far back as 2009, as discussed here, she warned a gathering of NRA members that this administration would use health care to infringe on the Second Amendment. As usual, she has demonstrated an interesting ability to predict the direction we're headed as a nation. At a time when clueless people are counseling Americans to rely solely on whistles or buy a double-barreled shotgun, and when others are exploiting children to push gun control, Governor Palin sees the big picture.

Kenton and Pam Lodwick, also from Alaska, had the honor of videoing the Governor's August 1, 2009 speech in Anchorage. The footage was then edited by All-Around Video. With permission from each of them, I'm posting the video in its entirety.

As Kenton indicated in the Youtube description:

At the 9:35 minute mark of Part 1, she gives a remarkably prescient prediction that there would be a some kind of tie-in between ObamaCare and guns in an effort to take away our Second Amendment rights.

This is what Governor Palin said nearly 4 years ago:

"And by the way, [with] health care being so big in D.C. right now, be wary when some kind of tie-in occurs. Because it will crop up: a tie-in with guns in an attempt to take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan. You know that this is coming--that the two issues will somehow crop up and they'll be tied together. So we have to be very wary of that." -Governor Sarah Palin, August 1, 2009 at the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska

In this 2009 NRA speech, Governor Palin discussed the Second Amendment, and she warned us:

Governor Palin: Celebrate Presidents Serving With Pure Motives

Ever the patriot, Governor Palin took time today to acknowledge Presidents' Day and those who have served America for the right reasons. On Facebook, she writes:

We’re kind of consumed with rugged race competition today in our house, but the important thing to remember this morning is the significance of February 18. It should be considered an honor to celebrate Presidents’ Day, particularly with the understanding that President George Washington is at the heart of this patriotic observance. With every passing day, as we recognize the true state of our union, we can appreciate even more those, like President Washington, who have served with pure motives and a true sense of purpose, who loved this nation more than self and truly sacrificed for her future.

Take a minute today to reflect on those who came before us and laid the foundation that was to be the solid rock on which future generations were built, then be inspired to fight for the restoration of all that made America a shining light in the world! Our past demands it, our present desperately requires it, and the world’s future depends on it.

Presidents’ Day reminds us that we have been uniquely blessed by God. Be grateful for the rights He has given us, and please honor those who have given themselves for the preservation of those rights. Let us reject any attempt to fundamentally transform our nation because we want our children and their children to know the American exceptionalism we have enjoyed and to deem it worthy of protecting. Freedom isn’t free, be willing to fight for it.

Happy Presidents’ Day.

The Governor also posted the following photo with these words:

In honor of Presidents' Day... saying the "Pledge of Allegiance" next to the brick tombs of President and Mrs. Washington on the Mount Vernon estate.

Chuck Heath, Jr. Sets Field and Stream Straight about "Sarah Palin's Shooting"

Thursday, February 14, 2013

There's never a dull moment for those who care about truth. The reason is we always have clean-up work to do as we, armed with a hefty pooper scooper, come behind those suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome. Chuck Heath, Jr., Governor Palin's brother, sent the following letter to the editor of Field and Stream to set yet another record straight. I guess we can call this one GunGate. Chuck writes:

February 13, 2013

Dear Editor,

As a fan of Field and Stream dating back to my childhood, it was very disheartening to read David Petzal’s hit piece on my father Chuck Heath, and my sister Sarah Palin’s caribou hunt in the TLC show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Why Mr. Petzal chose to write something like this nearly three years after the fact is perplexing…a cry for attention perhaps?

I shared the article with my parents and my mother responded by saying, “This is so ridiculous that it doesn’t even merit a response.”

Mom’s probably right but I guess I’m too stubborn to drop it that easily.

Petzal implying that Sarah has no experience with guns is akin to the bogus Washington Post story this week that said Sarah is going to work for Al Jazeera. Even a tiny bit of digging would have lead Mr. Petzal to a completely different conclusion.

So please allow me to set some facts straight:

First of all, I can’t recall the first time my sisters and I ever pulled the trigger on a rifle. We were too young to remember. Guns have been a part of my family for generations. My father and I recently wrote a book (Our Sarah: Made in Alaska) that chronicles some of our early hunting experiences.

So what are the facts? For one, Mr. Petzal leads the reader to believe that Sarah didn’t sight her gun in before the hunt. Totally untrue. The day before they set out after their prey, Sarah and Dad were consistently “driving tacks from 100 yards” (as Dad put it) with Sarah’s .225 Winchester. Those of you who watched the show in its entirety know that while walking across the tundra, Dad slipped and fell while carrying Sarah’s gun. He didn’t realize at the time that he had knocked the scope askew.

When it came time for Sarah to take her shot, she took aim, fired, and missed badly. Dad (or one of the nitwits as Petzal cruely refers to him) is visibly frustrated. After sixty-plus years of continual hunting and big game guiding, he has earned that right. Even at nearly 75 years old, I doubt Petzal could keep up with him. When it becomes obvious that Sarah’s scope is out of whack, she switches guns with Dad’s buddy, Becker. (By the way, Becker is not a guide as Petzal mentions in his piece, nor is he a nitwit).

As Sarah gets ready to fire Becker’s Remington 7mm Magnum, she asks if it has much of a kick. Why? Because her .225 doesn’t kick and she can keep her eye closer to the scope. My mom once had a nasty circle cut around her eye doing the same thing and Sarah never forgot that.

Once Sarah settled in with the 7mm, she dropped her caribou in one shot.

By the way, the day after the hunt, Dad set up some paper plates at fifty yards and couldn’t hit them with the .225. The scope was that far off.

If you doubt any of the things I’ve said perhaps you should talk to some of the people that were actually there. Here are a few of them:

-Stryker Overly – guide from Tok, Alaska
-Greg Jennen – owner of Alaska Glacier Mountain Outfitters in Two Rivers, Alaska
-John Pontz – bush pilot from Unalakleet, Alaska
-Mitch Tanen – Television Producer with Mark Burnett Productions
-Steve Becker – commercial fisherman and hunting buddy

Mitch Tanen in particular had this to say: “I’m sorry to hear that the magazine is calling into question the authenticity of the hunt we showed in that episode. I don’t know how to say it plain enough…the actual hunt and the story of all the events of that hunt as laid out in the episode are all true. There were always no less then ten people following Sarah, your father and Steve Becker during the four-day shoot. So in addition to your father and Steve Becker, an additional producer, at least two camera operators, two audio mixers, several PA’s, a coordinator, medical personnel, safety personnel and at least one of the two bush pilots we depended on to get us out into the bush from Kavik Camp, were there and had eyes on Sarah at the moment she shot the caribou. To suggest that somehow all of these individuals (including me) with our own differing political views would risk the professional reputations some of us have spent a life time building to make up something like that for the good of a television show is both ignorant and insulting.”

Petzal’s piece is full of gaping holes and tarnishes the reputation of everyone who was involved in that hunt.

As Sarah explains, “He’s the typical lying SOB-type that I’ve been dealing with since 2008. I’m very disappointed in Field & Stream for printing his garbage. This made-up fantasy of the columnist ranks right up there with yesterday’s report in the Washington Post that claims I’m working for Al Jazeera. My retort to that one was: ‘Uum, right… and tomorrow I’m having coffee with Elvis at the Mocha Moose in Wasilla.’ Really, these silly people need to get a life!”

Thank you,
Chuck Heath, Jr.

Governor Palin Responds to President Obama's SOTU Address

Governor Palin posted the following article on Facebook last night in response to President Obama's State of the Union address:

If you missed President Obama’s State of the Union address last night, you didn’t miss much – especially if you watched any of his past four State of the Union addresses.

We heard the same recycled rhetoric, and we heard his Orwellian declaration that the cornucopia of new federal programs he proposed, as well as his intention to eradicate world poverty, wouldn’t “increase our deficit by a single dime.”

Of course, he glossed over the inconvenient facts. He boasted about job creation, but didn’t mention that real unemployment is higher today than when he took office. He touted all those still undiscovered “clean energy” jobs without mentioning the tens of thousands of real jobs the Keystone Pipeline will create if he would simply allow it to be built. He sang of new energy development, but didn’t mention that new offshore leases for oil and natural gas drilling have declined a decimating 61% under his administration.

He talked about “helping” to build “a thriving middle class,” but didn’t address how the middle class is actually faring under his economic stewardship. This is important – his deception must be addressed: under his leadership, middle class families have seen the average price per gallon of gas increase 96%, the average cost of family health care premiums rise 24%, the annual cost per household from federal regulations rise to over $15,000, and real median household income decline $4,520. If this is what happens when he “helps” the middle class, then please, Mr. President, we implore you to stop “helping” us.

He talked about a “balanced approach to deficit reduction” without mentioning that $5.9 trillion has already been added to the debt since he took office. We’re $16.5 trillion in debt and he keeps digging the hole deeper! He didn’t mention his record trillion dollar deficits or the fact that his last proposed budget would add $9.2 trillion to the debt through 2022. His Democrat-controlled Senate hasn’t passed a budget in four years. That’s obviously not “responsible” or “balanced.” He said, “We can’t cut our way to prosperity.” Well, we definitely can’t get there by borrowing and spending money we don’t have on his “investments” that don’t work. If indiscriminately borrowing and spending money led to prosperity, then bankruptcy would be a sign of economic strength. But it isn’t.

A State of the Union address should give us a true picture of the direction in which we are headed. But we didn’t get the truth last night. And it WAS Orwellian.

What is the true state of our union? Though this may sound harsh, I’ll speak the truth here. We are a country going bankrupt to fund a bloated, distant, and often corrupt federal government led by venal politicians more concerned with paying off their campaign cronies and consolidating their own power than in preserving the constitutional republic that so many have fought and died for (including our brave men and women in uniform who were barely mentioned last night).

We are a country with an economy being stifled under the weight of a bankrupt and voracious federal machine demanding more taxes and burdensome regulations. Job creators are the ones stuck with the bill when Obama calls for “new revenue.” Their businesses bear the brunt of the nearly 87 million paperwork hours imposed by federal regulations in 2012 – annually costing them $1.75 trillion. And I haven’t even mentioned Obamacare yet, which looms like the dark cloud it is over our private sector. Is it any wonder why our economy is stagnant or why job growth is so anemic? President Obama’s “solution” to these problems is to make the federal government more intrusive, bankrupt, and controlling.

If we continue down the path Barack Obama has us on, the long-term forecast of the state of our union is not a pretty picture. Yet he merrily rolls along it, deceiving too many Americans into thinking that these are intelligent, economic, and ethical proposals.

Our President wasn’t candid with Americans about our forecast, but, interestingly, in a Q&A session last week, Paul Krugman, one of President Obama’s economic cheerleaders at the New York Times, was remarkably candid about where we’re headed.

When asked about our federal debt, he admitted that “eventually we do have a problem” especially because “the population is getting older” and “health care costs are rising.” So, what does he see as the solution to pay for all this? He admits that your taxes will rise. And worse:

“Surely in the end it will require some middle class taxes as well. We won’t be able to pay for the kind of government the society will want without some increase in taxes, not a huge one, but some increase in taxes on the middle class, maybe a value added tax. And we’re also going to have to make decisions about health care – not pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits. So, the snarky version I use, which I shouldn’t even say because it gets me in trouble, is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this.” (But wait, I thought there’d be no such thing as “death panels,” liberal liars?)

Mr. Krugman tried to portray this brave new world in the gentlest possible light, but it’s going to take quite a lot of “sales taxes” to meet the payments on the ever-increasing multi-trillion dollar debt we’re burying our kids and grandkids under. And with health care costs rising under Obamacare, obviously a lot of care will be rationed and even flat out denied by panels of faceless bureaucrats making life and death decisions for you and your loved ones. This is the long-term forecast for the state of America under Obama’s failed policies: middle class taxes and death panels.

Does that sound good to you? It doesn’t to me. So, we better get motivated to do something about it. We’d better get out of our post-election funk and wake up to the radicals’ reality being created as America gets “fundamentally transformed.”

Here’s the good news: President Obama is in many ways a lame duck president. None of his ridiculous ideas will come to pass via the legislative process. Of course, he may try to force them down America’s throat by imposing them through other means. But they can be undone if the right people are in position to undo them. He is very bold right now – some would say cocky – because of his November win, but there is another election around the corner, and we can check his boldness at the ballot box by electing constitutional conservatives. We must continue to affirm the fact that growing our bankrupt federal government is NOT the solution. Most of what the federal government does could be handled better on the individual, local, and state levels.

Our country didn’t weather a Revolution, two World Wars, a Civil War, a Great Depression, and countless other political and economic storms, just to be sunk by the dangerous policies of this current administration. We’re stronger than this. As President Reagan said, “I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing.”

So, do something. 2014 is just around the corner. Get motivated! Get organized. America, don’t retreat. In the words of yet another White House program, “Let’s move.”

LSM's Palin Derangement Syndrome Bites Them in the Butt--Again

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

She doesn't call them the lamestream media for nothing. Today, we get another example of just how accurate Governor Palin is when she applies that term to so-called journalists who have no commitment to truth, fairness, or even common sense. When I was a child, I would hear my elders warn, "God don't like ugly!" Of course, they meant that ugly behavior usually comes back to bite you in the butt--or the rump, as Aunt Mary used to say.

Suzi Parker of The Washington Post, in typical Palin Derangement Syndrome behavior, sought to embarrass Governor Palin and make her look silly. Instead, she simply made herself look like a hater, which she apparently is. After this situation, perhaps she will now find the self-discipline to ignore the voices in her head.

Parker somehow failed to realize that a satirical story about the Governor was just that--satirical. Mind you, there's no way a serious journalist would have been able to miss that, as Parker's source for the ridiculous assertion she made was The Daily Currant, known for its satire. In fact, one of the stories on its page is entitled, "Catholic Church Considering Jerry Sandusky as Next Pope." Additionally, their "About" page states (emphasis added):

The Daily Currant is an English language online satirical newspaper that covers global politics, business, technology, entertainment, science, health and media.

Unfortunately for Parker, she did miss the obvious, and she wrote a snarky story accusing Governor Palin of joining the ranks of the Al Jazeera America news network and blasting her for seeking to "stay relevant." Never mind the fact that people like Parker themselves prove the Governor's relevance when they cannot help but write about, talk about her, and lie about her 24-7. Remember now: God don't like ugly. So Parker's attempt to demean Governor Palin turned out to be most embarrassing for herself--and should be a permanent stain on her "career."

The Washington Post was forced to post the following correction due to Parker's negligent brand of journalism:
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post and the post’s URL incorrectly reported that Sarah Palin had signed on as a contributor to the Al Jazeera America news network. The blogger cited a report on the Daily Currant Web site as the basis for that information without realizing that the piece was satirical.

How much effort does it take to do a little background check before you giddily post an article meant to trash Governor Palin? These people aren't even good at being bad. Their agenda gets in the way of what should be common sense, responsible behavior. As we have seen time and time again, the lamestream media are as committed to taking down Governor Palin as they are of lifting up worshiping President Obama. This obsession with attacking the Governor is getting old--and it continues to bite these people in the butt. Will they never learn?

Governor Palin is wont to point out how lame the media have become. Beyond that, she usually just rolls with the punches. However, even she couldn't resist poking fun at Parker today:

She tweeted:

C4P editor, Stacy Drake, wrote an excellent article on this whole issue. In it she includes a collection of excerpts from articles in which writers take Suzi Parker to task over her ridiculous error. Read Stacy's piece here.

Happy Birthday, Governor Palin

Monday, February 11, 2013

Today is Governor Palin's birthday, and I wish her a happy one! She deserves it. Not only has she committed herself to fighting for our country, she does so in the face of personal attack after personal attack. Nonetheless, she epitomizes courage and patriotism and never backs down. For that, I cannot help but respect her. Refusing to sit down and shut up, she stands for those principles that are necessary for the success of this country.

Today, rather than simply focusing on herself on her birthday, she and Todd attended the funeral of murdered Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, and she asked that we consider helping the families of our American heroes.

She wrote:

On a personal note, I thank you who've sent birthday greetings today, and it would be awesome if you'd join me in supporting the families of these heroes by helping them out!

Remembering Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle

An American hero was laid to rest today. Navy SEAL and patriot, Chris Kyle, was tragically murdered, as reported here, and today people gathered at Cowboy Stadium to honor him. Governor Palin and Todd attended.

Via Facebook:
Todd and I are in Dallas today to attend Chris Kyle’s memorial and funeral service. I find it sad to see that flags aren’t flying at half staff for this American hero. We’re surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris’ fellow veterans and active duty warriors. In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe.

We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was. My son Track couldn’t meet Chris when Todd and I first met him because Track was deployed to Iraq. Then when we got to know Chris even better, our son was deployed in Afghanistan. We’ve met a lot of people in recent years, and Track has been privileged to meet them as well. But he said about Chris, “Mom, he’s the ONE person in the entire world I would be star-struck to meet. He’s it.”

God bless this great warrior. Let us keep his wife and children in our prayers, and may we never forget him or his sacrifice.

- Sarah Palin

The Governor posted the following afterwards:
It was a beautiful memorial service for Chris Kyle at Cowboys Stadium this afternoon. What a celebration of a great life! All in all, is there a finer human being who has crossed the 50-yard line star in Texas than Chris Kyle? Please click on the following link for information on how we can help out the families of Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield. As patriotic Americans, this is a tangible way to show appreciation and support for good people. On a personal note, I thank you who've sent birthday greetings today, and it would be awesome if you'd join me in supporting the families of these heroes by helping them out!

Video: Dr. Carson and Pres. Obama at National Prayer Breakfast; UPDATE: Hannity Interview Video

Friday, February 8, 2013

If you've been online or watched television yesterday or today, surely you've heard about Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon who spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast. Perhaps you've already seen the video, but just in case you haven't, I'm posting it here. This man's speech was brilliant. He never called out President Obama by name, but doing so was not necessary.

Dr. Carson stated at the opening that he had no desire to offend anyone, but that he was opposed to political correctness. His words, both honest and blunt, were delivered with great grace--not an easy combination, but he managed it well. President Obama looked increasingly uneasy as the doctor's speech progressed, and I cringed a few times, knowing the President had to be wishing he were somewhere else--anywhere other than seated near this man who was bold enough to take him on, not behind his back, but in his very presence.

One thing I appreciated as I listened to Dr. Carson was the fact that he didn't simply criticize the President's policies; he offered intelligent solutions. President Obama would be wise to take heed.

UPDATE: Sean Hannity interviewed Dr. Carson Friday night. Inspiring story:

Who's Your Daddy?

Thursday, February 7, 2013

I guess Chris Rock was supposed to be using his celebrity to seriously promote and advance President Obama's gun controlling proclivities, but surely he must have been trying out a new comedy act. Like many liberals, Rock simply doesn't get it. The President of the United States is not our daddy, as he asserted today. Nor is the First Lady our mama. The President is also not our boss. The reverse is actually true; presidents are elected to represent--to serve--the people. As American patriots well know, we the people are not going to blindly follow a politician, for that's the stuff cults are made of.

Chris Rock said:

The President of the United States is, you know, our boss. But he is also, you know...the President and the First Lady are kinda like the mom and dad of the country. And when your dad says something, you listen. And when you don’t, it will usually bite you in the ass later on. So, I’m here to support the President.

In all fairness to the comedian, he didn't have a clear mind while making those comments; he was under the influence--of Kool Aid. It's interesting that he wasn't so committed to "honour[ing] thy father and thy mother" when President Bush occupied Pennsylvania Avenue. But I digress.

I respect Americans who understand the proper role of government--who support liberty, not liberals. For that matter, I don't have much respect for those who support so-called conservatives over common sense either. As far as I can see, there's not a more consistent voice for liberty than Governor Palin. We need her, and other like-minded people, to continue that stand for our nation because, unfortunately, more and more people are starting to think like Chris Rock. What a joke. But it ain't funny.

Chris Rock can keep his daddy; I'll stick with our Founding Fathers.

Governor Palin: Happy Birthday, President Reagan

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Governor Palin, often referred to as "Reagan in a dress," wished President Ronald Reagan a happy birthday today. Via Facebook:

Happy birthday, President Reagan! In honor of the Gipper's 102 birthday, let's watch his 1st Inaugural Address again...

Palins Honor Navy SEAL Chris Kyle

Sunday, February 3, 2013

Paying tribute to an American hero tragically gunned down, Governor Palin posted on Facebook:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and many friends of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle tonight. Todd and I first met Chris in Pella, Iowa, when he helped out with security for the premiere of the film “The Undefeated.” And later we became friends with Chris when he was on “Stars Earn Stripes” with Todd. Chris was a wonderful man, a good friend, and a true American hero who loved our country and served honorably. He was loved and admired by so many, and he will never be forgotten.

- Todd and Sarah Palin

My heart goes out to his family and the family of Chad Littlefield, also killed.
