This past Thursday, January 15, I spoke to those gathered at the SEMO Pachyderm Club on the topic "Dr. King's Dream: Where Are We Now?" It was an honest look into race relations and challenged people to reflect on what Dr. King's dream actually was and if we have achieved it.
The inspirational speech, no doubt, validated the perspectives of some, but it also caused some to reevaluate. It was a discussion--a necessary one--that was simultaneously uncomfortable, heartwarming, and controversial.
